With the rising trend of ’Staycations’ over the school holiday periods, we have come up with some great ideas that you can and the family can enjoy, without having to venture too far at all!
Festive fix for the kids
If you don’t fancy dealing with the shopping rush at the mall to give your kids a ‘festive fix’ this year – head over to The Castle Hill RSL who are hosting a tremendous kids Christmas event in December. With a special visit from some Elves (all the way from Santa’s workshop!) games, dancing, balloons and gingerbread man decorating – there is something for everyone!
Feed baby farm animals
If you want your kids to have an interactive experience on a real farm – from holding baby animals, walking around the farm feeding and seeing the larger farm animals, milking the cow and bottle feeding the baby lambs and goats – look no further than The Golden Ridge Animal Farm (686 Old Northern Rd, Dural).
Get adventurous in the tree tops
Experience the iconic Australian bush like never before. Get up-close and personal with native Australian wildlife and magnificent Gum trees, as you climb, weave and fly through the tree tops on self-guided rope courses. Flex your adventurous spirit and test yourself mentally and physically with over 100 elevated obstacles with rope ladders, wobbly bridges, tunnels, cargo-nets and zip lines, or for the super adventurous amongst you – try the World’s Fastest Roller Coaster Zip Line at TreeTops Western Sydney.
Have fun getting fit
Climbing is a fun way to exercise and have a great time doing it. It can improve flexibility, muscle endurance, strength, and is a great way to improve overall fitness. Plus, the kids will love it!
Bounce into the school holidays
With the recent unpredictable Sydney weather, best to have some wet weather contingency plans in place if you have small fry with lots of energy! Bounce into Inflatable World in Castle Hill – the kids will love to jump, climb and slide on the range of fun inflatables (while you sit back and enjoy a well deserved coffee).
